Varsity Volleyball · Kubik, Curry, Spann Earn IGCA All-State Volleyball Honors


The Iowa Girls Coaches Association announced its all-state volleyball honorees on Monday, Nov. 25, where three Valley High School girls’ varsity volleyball players were recognized.

Sophomore Hayden Kubik headlines the Tiger trio, making the Elite all-state team. Her 491 kills this past season ranked fifth in all of Class 5A.

Senior Olivia Curry was named first-team all state. The University of Nebraska-Omaha commit ranked in the top 10 in 5A in assists with 699 — good for eighth. She also ranked second on the team in kills at 221.

Senior Jacey Spann earned third-team all-state honors. She ranked third on the team in kills with 167 for the year.

Valley finished the 2019 campaign 42-5 and a runner-up finish in the 5A state volleyball tournament.
