Valley advances to Tuesday’s regional final and will take on Johnston. That match is set for 7 p.m., and will be played at Coldiron Fieldhouse.
ORIGINAL POST: The Valley High School varsity volleyball team will welcome Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln on Thursday, Oct. 22, for a Class 5A, Region 2 semifinal at Coldiron Fieldhouse. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
The winner will advance to next Tuesday’s regional final and take on either Johnston or Indianola.
Fans who received a voucher to attend Thursday’s match should adhere to the Valley’s spectator policies. All fans should enter the northwest athletic doors and come east down the north hallway to purchase their tickets. Tickets cost $6.
Visiting fans will sit in the east bleachers, and Valley fans will sit in the west bleachers. Please sit in the sections marked with blue tape.

Valley heads into Thursday’s regional semifinal with a 17-6 record during the regular season. Junior Hayden Kubik is one of the top scorers in all of 5A, totaling 283 kills on the year — ranking third in the entire class. She also has tallied a team-high 156 digs and ranks third for the Tigers with 22 blocks. Senior Anna Bernhard has recorded team-highs in assists (34) and blocks (34).
This year’s 5A Iowa high school state volleyball tournament is set for Nov. 2-5 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. Check the IGHSAU website for more information.
